That's an interesting thought. I thought the lantern was required to be in the image. But you know better than me in compositions, So I will go with you on that.
He he.. it's not about knowing or anything.. It's about personal preference.. What i thought was, if you had only the small hut at the corner and the vast expanse of water, it would look even better.. One more thing is, to include the lantern, you are including only a part of another building, which is distracting..
Nice work.. Nice reflections and light. I would have liked it better if you would have eliminated the lantern and the tree on the right edge.
